Sherwin-Williams Light French Gray is a transitional lighter gray with a balanced mix of warm and cool undertones. It’s a versatile gray that works well with other colors and undertones in a space. It’s from their historic classics line and it’s what I would call more of a pure color. In my opinion, it’s pure gray. It’s a beautiful option if you are looking for a light and bright gray paint and it plays well with others. As a general rule, going lighter gray (rather than darker) tends to look better. It gives a fresh and airy look without making your space look too dark.
Once you have your top paint colors picked out, ALWAYS ALWAYS and ALWAYS purchase paint samples. You may think you have selected the perfect color based on the paint chip, but the paint chips are small and you will get a better idea of the color once you see it painted in your home. I recommend cutting up painting your swatch on poster board and taping it to the room if you do not want to paint directly on the wall. FYI, Sherwin Williams sells small sample that covers about 75 sq.ft.
